Chris Beukes

Chairman

Chris is a former member of the South African Police Services. He was a member of the South African Police Special Task Force. He was involved in the planning and execution of numerous operations. He left the unit in January 1999 and started TSU Protection Services (PTY) Ltd in February 1999.

Chief Executive Officer

Anton Lume joined the Military Service in 1987 and served in 2 SAI Infantry Battalion in the South West Africa/ Angola in continuous action, mostly deep in Angola, where after he joined the South African Police Service in 1989 where he became an instructor at the South African Police Training College in Pretoria.

In 1995 he co-founded Aza Day & Night Security, initially this was a small company that was turning over less than R50 000 a month in an industry that was at that time, controlled by a few dominant role-players. At that time, very few black people had ventured into this highly competitive and cutthroat industry

Head - Human Resource

Wendy Ngakane joined TSU Group Holdings in October 2024 as Head of Human Resources Division. She brings a wealth of HR experience from operational to, managerial, strategic and Consultancy. Her career spans across different industries
( FMCG, Medical aid, Banking, Insurance,
IT, ICT).

He is a former member of the South African Correctional Services where he served with distinction for 14 years. This time included a period on Robben Island, the famous prison where Madiba was held for most of his time in prison during the apartheid regime. The majority of his time he spent in the more rural

Chief Operations Officer

Corné joined the South African Police Service 1990. He was stationed at the Police College and was utilized as a Physical and Drill instructor as well as a Platoon Sergeant.
In 1994 Corne completed the Special Task Force Training course along with all the advance training courses within the same year whilst being active as a Special Task Force instructor by the next selection course.

He was also extensively involved in developing various courses for the SAPS specialised units within the SAPS as well as other units. As an operational member of the Special Task Force for 10 years, Corne was involved in numerous operations which included the release of hostages from buildings, a hijacked aircra􀅌, the release of kidnapped hostages, apprehending armed and dangerous criminals, rescuing flood victems, joint cross-border operations to destroy arms caches as well as protecting a number of foreign dignitaries on official visits to South Africa. Corne left the unit in 2004 to join TSU. In 2006 Corne joined Vodacom as a TSU CPO for the Chief Executive Officer. In 2009 he was also appointed as the Manager for VIP Protection where he was responsible for all Vodacom’s VIP protection related activities. During his time at Vodacom he was also deployed to Tanzania as an “in-house” security manager. Here Corne was responsible for handling all the security related issues, managing the security service providers and ensuring the safety and security of all expatriates. He was also involved in all health and safety projects including the establishment of emergency evacuation procedures. Corné re-joined the TSU operations side in August 2018. As training has always been his passion, he got the opportunity to join Michael Baker International (SALLYPORT), later Caliburn as mentor-trainer. He was extensively involved with helping to align all training of Sallyport and the IAF to support the operational andorganizational objectivesves of the Balad Airforce Base F16 programme. Some of his duties entailed the planning, development, organising, coordinating, ands well as to present all training, retraining, internal training and evaluation of personnel. He also had to identify training needs and manage maintenance of training standards and qualifications, ensure that training aligns with international standards and phenomena, coordinate and evaluate research material as well as planning and coordinating operational simula􀆟on and combined exercises with other departments. In 2020 he returned to TSU as an instructor. Corne’s logical and methodical approach to achieving tasks and objectives along with the vast range of skills he has obtained throughout his career, is the reason why he is one of the best Instructors in the world. He is an excellent leader and communicator who knows how to develop and implement effective processes that achieves required objectives successfully.

Johannes Wagener (Waggies)

Security Ops Manager

Waggies joined the S.A.P.S in 1988 where he was stationed at unit 19 in Pretoria. After completion of his Counter Insurgency Instructors Course, he was newly stationed at Maleoskop Counter Insurgency Training Facility, Groblersdal as Instructor. During this time, he completed various other courses such as, Basic and Advance Tracking at Uppingendam Tracking School.

Debby Ncwana is a highly motivated individual with a passion for empowerment and self-development. Debby started her career at First National Bank and Absa 1995 – 2002.

TSU Technical Solutions

Pierre joined the South African Police in 1996 as reservist. During his 15 years of service, he served in various units: Visible Policing, Crime Prevention, Operational Response Service – Border Police, Provincial Crime Prevention, Decentralised Training, and Flying Squad. During this period, he received a few commendations from Provincial and National Police Commissioners for excellent and extraordinary service.

TSU Investigation Services

Elsje started her career at Transnet’s financial services where after she moved to Transnet Group Internal Audit (“TGAS”), managing four (4) regional offices and later became involved in the fight against corruption at various divisions of Transnet including SAA.

She worked in 25 countries all over the world whilst being a Manager at TGAS SAA. During her employment at TGAS SAA she worked with various international law enforcement agencies i.e., Scotland Yard, Miami Police. (1996 to 2001). After resigning from TGAS, she was contracted by Manase & Associates where she performed forensic work as a project manager on inter alia Department of Minerals & Energy, MNet, Johannesburg Water and the Jali Commission. (2001 to 2002) Whilst being contracted by Manase & Associates she was contracted to SABC on a co-sourcing basis to establish an Internal Audit Division, including the Forensics department. During this time, she successfully built an Internal Audit Department consisting of 45 staff members. The Department was assessed in accordance with the IIA Standards as part of the co-sourcing agreement entered between the parties, by an independent company. The Department established during the period was found fully compliant with the Standards set by the IIA. After the co-sourcing period, the SABC appointed her on a full-time basis where she oversaw numerous Forensic Investigations. (2002 to 2008) Elsje founded Comperio Forensic Services in May 2008 (name changed in 2018 to Comperio Consulting) focussing on the fight against white collar crime, to make a difference within the society of South Africa. During the past 20 years she has performed and has been involved in more than a thousand investigations in all sectors of business. She completed several high-profile cases whilst being employed at the SABC and Comperio Forensic Services/Comperio Advisory. (2008 to June 2021) Currently: Director - Forensic Investigations at TSU Investigation Services. (July 2021 to date) Her field of expertise is forensic services focusing on corrective action to prevent recurrence of the control breakdown. Due to her knowledge of internal audit, she can identify the root cause of the problem to enable management to have a return on their investment. Debora Hammann

Operations Manager - Executive Protection

Debora started her career within the security
industry in 2006, in the United Kingdom, as a static
security guard, protecting the national key points in the City of London. Her international experience expands over 15 countries and the number of high-net-worth clients under her personal protection and her protection teams are innumerable.

Head of Polygraph & Investigations

Peet is a former member of the South African Police service with vast experience in criminal investigations. He began his career at a young age as a detective in the criminal investigation department and progressed through the ranks until his retirement at the rank of Brigadier Holding the position of Regional Chief of crime Prevention

Director - KIMS-International

Herman was the provincial commander of the South African Police Service’s Hostage Negotiation Team, as a Lt-Col for 20 years. He developed law enforcement and hostage negotiation equipment, together with engineers

from Stellenbosch, which are now used throughout South Africa and Namibia. Among his duties in the 22 years he spent in the unit he was managing hundreds of hostage- and suicide related incidents in the Western Cape and abroad, selecting and training people for hostage-related incident management (theory and practical) as well as logistical and financial management. He provided training to various countries including Botswana, Namibia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, France, Latvia etc. He was also a permanent member of all the National Key Point, Joint Planning Committee Structures in the Western Cape.Some of the more challenging incidents he was involved in were the arrest of those responsible for kidnapping a Dutch teenage boy who was seized in Cape Town and family extorted for R5 million, and the successful management of a kidnapping of two minors and detaining them on a catamaran off the Virgin Islands. The children were located safely and no ransom was paid in either of the incidents. In 2000 he went to Louisiana State University Socorro, New Mexico, USA for training as part of the US Department of State Antiterrorism Assistance Program and was also responsible for hosting a working session in 2009 in the Strand, Western Cape, RSA with the French GIGN in the management of mass hostage incidents. Herman’s experience is widely recognised. In 2005 he was invited to do a Kidnapping Management presentation at The International Negotiators Working Group in Vancouver, Canada. He was also part of the planning of various major events, such as the 2010 Soccer World Cup where he was part of the police’s planning and command structure in the Western Cape. Before joining the hostage negotiation team, Herman’s 29 years police experience includes acting head of the police’s Crime Reaction Unit in Maitland, where attending high-risk shooting incidents and media liaison were part of his duties. Prior to that he was crime prevention head at Sea Point police station. Herman studied law at university, graduating with a B. Proc and BA LLB. He is authorised to practice as an advocate in the High Court of South Africa.

Jacques Rheeder

Head of Logistics

Jacques joined the National Defence Force (SA Navy) in 1993. After completing basic training, he was sent to the Logistic school where he qualified as a Logistics Officer.
He worked at various land bases and served at sea on Naval Vessels for 5 years.

K9 - Gauteng

John EA Hennop started his career in the South African Police Service (1985) and is a former Lieutenant Colonel. He has 32 years of extensive experience in the K-9 field and Stock Theft Investigation Units.
